‘Steal The Rainbow’! Man Steals Truck Full Of Skittles Candy. Really.
A man caught removing tires from a truck has been charged with also stealing the tractor-trailer containing $250,000 worth of Skittles candy, according to police.
Seven pallets of the 28 in the truck are still missing, authorities said.
Alan Chavez, 22, has been charged with first-degree felony theft.
It was unclear Monday whether he had a lawyer.
Chavez said he had paid someone else $500 for the truck’s rims and tires, police said.
The truck has an estimated value of $85,000, and the trailer’s value is $30,000.
JOKESTARTERS:
- Authorities are currently scouring nearby dental offices, searching for a recent , shady-looking but sweet-smelling male patient with a lot of cavities.
- Considering the bizarreness of the Skittles ad campaigns lately, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was some kind of viral marketing attempt. Really.
- This isn’t the first candy-related theft this thief has made. Previously, he was busted for stealing $135,000 worth of M&Ms, but he turned them in because he was allergic to peanuts. Another time, he was caught stealing $48,000 worth of Juju Bees, which he used as adhesive for his dentures.
- As punishment, this man is going to be forced to eat every last stolen Skittle, while watching the irritating TV commercials over and over and over again, with his eyes taped open ala “A Clockwork Orange.”
